Montana Has Enacted PSYPACT® — Not Yet Effective
Montana has passed PSYPACT® legislation, but enactment and effectiveness are different things. Until the state completes implementation and the Commission recognizes it as a participating jurisdiction, an APIT® does not authorize you to deliver telepsychology to clients located in Montana, and a Montana license cannot serve as your compact home state. Practising on the assumption that a signed bill is enough is a board-complaint risk. Until the effective date lands, a Montana license is the only lawful route.

Until the PSYPACT® Commission recognizes Montana as a participating jurisdiction, an APIT® does not reach clients located here, and a Montana license cannot serve as your declared home state. A license issued by Montana Board of Psychologists is the only lawful route to practising in Montana today.
